Auburn football players voice their opinions of Bryan Harsin on social media

Head football coach Bryan Harsin has found his name involved in rumors and reports for months.

Dating back to December, his name had been linked to the head coaching jobs at the University of Washington and the University of Oregon.

Thursday evening and into Friday, reports indicated that Harsin's future was in serious doubt.

"I'm the Auburn coach, and that's how I'm operating every day," Harsin told ESPN. "I want this thing to work, and I've told our players and told everybody else there is no Plan B. I'm not planning on going anywhere. This was and is the job. That's why I left the one I was in, to come here and make this place a championship program and leave it better than I found it."Jackass Forever Streaming

Auburn President Jay Gogue confirmed that members of the administration were talking about Harsin's position at Auburn on Friday during the Board of Trustees meeting.

"I want to mention there's been a lot of rumors and a lot of allegations made about our football program," Gogue said. "I just want you to know we’re involved in trying to separate fact from fiction. We’ll keep you posted and make the appropriate decision at the right time.”

As reports flooded in, current and former players took to social media to voice their opinions on the head coach.

Outside linebacker Derick Hall, who announced in December that he would return to Auburn for his senior season, chimed in on Twitter. Hall led Auburn with nine sacks last season.

Chandler Wooten also took to Twitter to support Harsin. Wooten played a major role for the Auburn defense in 2021 after star linebacker Owen Pappoe went down with an injury.

John Samuel Shenker gave his support for Harrsin on Twitter as well. Shenker broke the single-season school record for receptions and receiving yards among tight ends this past season.

Former Auburn defensive lineman Lee Hunter went on Instagram to say that during his time at Auburn he and his teammates were "treated like we wasn't good enough and like dogs." Hunter transferred to the University of Central Florida in January.

Hunter also voiced his opinion on Twitter — citing that he wants to advise the players that may come to Auburn after him.

The Assistant review: silent power and condemnation

Everyone is familiar with the stereotypical image of a personal assistant: young, ambitious, available every hour of the day to satisfy the boss's weirdest whims.

But what if your boss turns out to be a sexual predator? Kitty Green lets us feel it in the minimalistic but memorable The Assistant , which we saw at Film Fest Gent last year .

Handyman
Get up before the city wakes up, be the first to arrive at the office, turn on the lights, make coffee, clear desks, check emails. Jane (Julia Garner from Ozark ) does that before 8 a.m. She is an assistant to an important man in a film production company. When her colleagues arrive, they don't pay much attention to her: after all, she is 'just' an assistant. And then her boss still has to start his working day.

We soon realize that he is not a shining example of morality. We never see him on screen, but it's obvious. This is where the specter of Harvey Weinstein roams. Jane and her colleagues must maintain his dubious lifestyle. Ban phone calls from his angry wife? Jane! Top up suspected medicines (read: against erectile dysfunction)? Jane! Host a whole bunch of women until late at night? Jane.À Travers Ma Fenêtre StreamingEncanto, la fantastique famille Madriga StreamingTous en scène 2 StreamingAdieu Monsieur Haffmann StreamingSuper-héros malgré lui StreamingVaillante StreamingOuistreham StreamingPresque StreamingL'Amour c’est mieux que la vie StreamingNightmare Alley Streaming

Work culture
When Jane's boss gives one of his "protegees" without experience or interest the same job as Jane, she has had enough. She fears that her boss is abusing the girl and she goes to the personnel department. In a terribly awkward scene with Matthew McFayden ( Succession ) as the human resources director, her accusations are ignored. He says almost bluntly that a complaint will only harm her. Humiliated and despondent, she leaves the office.

Thus it becomes clear that the problem is not just the Weinstein figure, but the whole toxic culture he spreads and grows. The micro-aggressions Jane has to endure from the men in the office: talking about her in front of her, passing all the difficult tasks onto her, attracting her attention with a wad of paper instead of calling her by her name, ignoring her as it suits them, etc. Any alleged misstep results in an exaggerated scolding of the boss, after which she has to apologize and promise she knows how exceptional the opportunity is given to her. Those may seem like small things, but all together you can make someone fall so very low.

Minimalistic
Director and screenwriter Kitty Green don't push the consequences of such a working culture right in the face. On the contrary, The Assistant is a fine piece of slice-of-life with an impact. These aren't big emotions, monologues, or screaming contests, but the daily grind of a young woman who doesn't want her career to be thwarted by a pathetic excuse for a man.

But Jane's role in that culture is not wiped out either. She also helps maintain this, but at the same time the balance of power in the company is so skewed that she can do little without help from above. For example, there are many women (and men) who simply have to endure appalling working conditions until a change comes.Tendre Et Saignant StreamingBelle StreamingSpider-Man: No Way Home StreamingScream 5 StreamingLes Promesses StreamingMy Hero Academia - World Heroes' Mission StreamingMy Hero Academia - World Heroes' Mission StreamingLicorice Pizza StreamingHouse of Gucci StreamingLa Panthère des neiges Streaming

The Assistant is a minimalist film, also in how everything is portrayed. Kitty Green also contributed to the editing, and her long shots with the rather washed-out, gray cinematography perfectly illustrate the routine in Jane's life. The fact that the whole thing always remains fascinating is certainly thanks to Julia Garner. The young actress already has two Emmy awards under her belt for Ozark , and here she's so endearing, you'll want to whisper good advice or encouragement in her ear all the time. One thing is certain: this assistant can be promoted by us.

Kitty Green uses a typical day as an assistant to criticize the sexist and toxic work culture that figures like Harvey Weinstein maintain. A small-scale film with an important message and a great Julia Garner.

For the after party, Fox and Ye headed to an unfinished storefront next to Lucien where they ate birthday cake and danced all night.

Last month, the couple made a splash in their joint appearances during Paris couture week, specifically at the Kenzo and Schiaparelli shows, where the couple showed up in matching ensembles.

The two apparently caused a frenzy outside the Kenzo fall 2022 show, where Fox told WWD she was wearing Schiaparelli creative director Daniel Roseberry’s personal pair of Carhartt jeans. She finished the look with a Schiaparelli denim jacket with conical breasts, which she matched with oversize gilded earrings shaped like buttocks to match with Ye, who also wore denim head-to-toe by Balenciaga.Vaillante StreamingShingeki no kyojin (SNK) saison 4 StreamingEuphoria saison 2 StreamingLe Livre de Boba Fett StreamingPeacemaker Streaming

With the help of stylists Peri Rosenzweig and Briana Andalore and makeup artist Daniel Kolaric, Fox wore a black Schiaparelli minidress with thigh-high leather boots and signature jewelry pieces by the designer.

In an article she wrote for Interview magazine, she confirmed that she and the rapper have been dating since they met in Miami on New Year’s Eve, stating “it was an instant connection.”

Brian Flores lawsuit, explained: Former Dolphins coach sues NFL, teams for discriminatory hiring practices

Former Dolphins coach Brian Flores filed a class-action lawsuit against the NFL and its teams on Tuesday, alleging the league has not only engaged in discriminatory hiring practices against Black candidates for coaching and front office vacancies, but has also conducted sham interviews under the pretense of following the Rooney Rule.

The lawsuit, filed in the Southern District of New York, alleges the NFL and its teams to have violated Section 1981 of the Civil Rights Act of 1866 ; the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination; the New York State Human Rights Law; and the New York City Human Rights Law.

Flores, listed as the plaintiff, claims to act on behalf of more than 40 members of the proposed class: "all Black head coach, offensive and defensive coordinators and quarterbacks coaches, as well as general managers and black candidates for those positions."

The allegations
Flores, who was fired following the 2021 season despite leading Miami to back-to-back winning campaigns, claims in his suit that the NFL and its teams act like a "plantation" in which the 32 teams — none of whose owners are Black — profit from the labor of a league that is 70 percent Black. Flores' complaint also claims the league refuses to adequately address "racism, particularly when it comes to the hiring and retention of Black head coaches, coordinators and general managers."Vaillante streamingSuper-héros malgré lui streamingLes Jeunes amants streamingArthur Rambo streamingVanille streamingRed Rocket streaming

Specifically, Flores alleges that Dolphins owner Stephen Ross asked him to "tank" the Dolphins during the 2019 season to improve the team's draft position to secure the No. 1 overall choice (which ultimately went to the Bengals, who used their position to select quarterback Joe Burrow from LSU). Flores also alleged Ross offered him $100,000 for every loss that year.

"Then, when the Dolphins started winning games, due in no small part to Mr. Flores’ coaching, Mr. Flores was told by the team’s General Manager, Chris Grier, that 'Steve' was 'mad' that Mr. Flores’ success in winning games that year was 'compromising (the team’s) draft position.'"

Flores' lawsuit also alleges Ross asked him to violate league tampering rules following the 2019 season to recruit a 'prominent quarterback' — reportedly Tom Brady , who was set to enter free agency — to play for the Dolphins. Flores alleges that, after "he repeatedly refused to comply with these improper directives," Ross invited him to lunch on a yacht where the unnamed quarterback “conveniently” arrived in the same marina. Flores "refused the meeting and left the yacht immediately."

After the incident, the complaint says that "Flores was treated with disdain and held out as someone who was noncompliant and difficult to work with" and that Ross to treat him with "disdain" for the remainder of the Flores' tenure.

Flores also alleged the Broncos and Giants of conducting "sham" interviews with him in 2019 and '21, respectively.

Flores claimed then-Broncos general manager John Elway and team president/CEO Joe Ellis and others showed up an hour late to a 2019 interview "completely disheveled, and it was obvious that they had drinking (sic) heavily the night before. It was clear from the substance of the interview that Mr. Flores was interviewed only because of the Rooney Rule, and that the Broncos never had any intention to consider him as a legitimate candidate for the job."

As part of his lawsuit, Flores included a purported screenshot of a text message with Patriots coach Bill Belichick, who seemingly mistook Flores for Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll. Belichick — thinking he was speaking to Daboll — congratulated Flores for getting the job, three days Flores was to interview with the Giants.

Tom Brady officially announces retirement after 22 years in the NFL

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady told fans Tuesday he's retiring from football, saying it's time to focus on other things after an illustrious NFL career that has spanned 22 seasons.

A lengthy Instagram post from Brady, 44, the winner of seven Super Bowls, capped almost 72 hours of speculation since reports first emerged Saturday afternoon that he would hang it up.

Brady wrote of the brutal physical toll and total commitment it takes to play football at the highest level. He made only vague comments about future endeavors.

"This is difficult for me to write, but here it goes: I am not going to make that competitive commitment anymore," wrote Brady, the NFL's all-time leader in passing yards and touchdown throws.

"I have loved my NFL career, and now it is time to focus my time and energy on other things that require my attention," he said.

Brady just completed his second campaign with the Buccaneers as the defending Super Bowl champions fell to the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC semifinals.

Brady rallied the Bucs from a 27-3 deficit to tie it late before Matt Gay’s field goal at the gun won it for the Rams a week ago Sunday.

As soon as the game ended, speculation ran rampant about Brady’s future and whether he’d return to Tampa Bay for the 2022 season.

And as recently as Monday, it wasn’t clear that Brady was hanging it up.

“I think when the time is right, I’ll be ready to make a decision one way or the other,” he said on the Sirius XM podcast Let’s Go!

But Tuesday at 9:35 a.m. ET, Brady made it official.

"I've done a lot of reflecting in the past week and have asked myself difficult questions," he wrote. "And I am so proud of what we have achieved."

The will-he-or-won’t-he drama had become a running joke throughout the sports world.

The self-effacing New York Jets, a regular punching bag of Brady’s, jokingly tweeted Tuesday, “this better be real.”

“But seriously, congrats on a first-ballot, Hall of Fame career,” said the Jets, who lost 30 of 37 games to teams led by Brady. “We may not miss seeing you on the field, but the entire football world will.”All of Us Are Dead streaming vfEuphoria saison 2 streaming vfSpider-Man: No Way Home streaming vfHouse of Gucci streaming vfThe Fallout streaming vf

Brady went to great lengths to thank nearly everyone in his inner circle, including family, teammates and coaches.

By name, he shouted out the Bucs’ owners, the Glazer family, Tampa Bay general manager Jason Licht, Bucs coach Bruce Arians, personal trainer Alex Guerrero, agents Don Yee and Steve Dubin, his wife, Gisele Bündchen, and his children, Jack, Benny and Vivi.

Brady has spoken openly about his wife's desire for him to leave football and the emotional pain she suffered with every hit he took.

"Her selflessness allowed me to reach new heights professionally, and I am beyond words what you mean to me and our family," he wrote Tuesday.

He added a sentence in Bündchen's native Portuguese, "Te amo amor da minha vida," or "I love you, love of my life."

Despite having played two seasons in Tampa and two decades in Foxborough, Massachusetts, Brady conspicuously failed to make any mention of the New England Patriots and coach Bill Belichick in Tuesday's lengthy statement.

Under Belichick, Brady and the Pats captured Super Bowl titles in 2002, 2004, 2005, 2015, 2017 and 2019.
