Russia deploys troops on border with Finland after statement about joining NATO

Hours earlier, the Kremlin had said that Finland's accession to NATO would provoke Russia to retaliate.

On the territory of Russia in the direction of the border with Finland, the movement of heavy weapons was noticed. It came hours after the Kremlin threatened Helsinki with "consequences" if they joined NATO.

It is worth remembering that as soon as Putin declared war on Ukraine, Finland signed a petition to join NATO. However, in January, Helsinki stated that it had no plans to join NATO.

Finland is currently enhancing cooperation with the United States in the field of defense and is ready to join the Alliance. On the other hand, Vladimir Jabarov, deputy chairman of the International Committee of the Federation Council, said that Finland's accession to NATO would provoke Russia to retaliate.

The Daily Mail reports that Russian troops are moving towards Finland, which announced its accession to NATO the previous summer.

A video posted on social media shows Russian heavy weapons, including missile systems, allegedly being transferred to the border with Finland.

Two Russian coastal missile systems are running on the road on the Russian side of the border towards Helsinki. Evidenced by the presence of traffic signs that enter the framework.

The video comes hours after the Kremlin threatened the consequences of the country's accession to the Alliance.

The missile system may be the K -300P "Bastion-P" mobile coast defense system, designed to destroy surface ships, including aircraft carriers.

Finland has held non-aligned status for years, but after Russia's open attack on Ukraine, it announced its intention to join NATO.

According to polls, more than 80% of Finns in the country consider Russia a threat to the country.

The Alliance guarantees the membership of Finland and Sweden in NATO. According to The Times, a decision could be made this summer.

After that, the first deputy chairman of the International Committee of the Federation Council, Vladimir Jabarov, said that if Finland joined NATO, Russia would immediately respond: "Finland's accession to NATO will make it the target of Russian countermeasures."Sonic 2 streamingLes Animaux Fantastiques Les Secrets de Dumbledore streamingTwilight chapitre 2 streamingThe Craft streamingJujutsu Kaisen 0 streaming

Heavy weapons, including missile systems, have been spotted on Russian soil towards the Finnish border hours after the Kremlin warned Helsinki against joining NATO.

A video uploaded the night before showed two coastal missile systems moving down the road from the Russian side near the border.

Previously, this was the K-300P "Bastion-P" mobile coastal defense system, designed to destroy surface ships up to carrier battle groups.

As noted, the deployment of Russian troops came after Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin expressed hope that the government "by mid-summer will finalize discussions" about applying for NATO membership.

In response, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the move "will not improve" the security situation in Europe, while Russian MP Vladimir Dzhabarov added that it would mean "destruction of the state."

According to a recent poll by a Finnish market research firm, 84% of Finns consider Russia a "significant military threat", up 25% from a year ago.

As reported, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that if Finland and Sweden expressed a desire to join NATO, the Alliance allies would immediately support this wish, while at the same time there was no consensus on Ukraine's membership.
